How we score

Every NovaCopa score comes from a formula with fixed weights. Here it is in full, so you can check it.

NovaCopa editorial team · Checked on 18 October 2026

The slot score

Five criteria. The score is calculated from the review data: nobody types it in.

CriterionWhat it measuresWeight
RTPAgainst the 96.5% industry norm. Above it adds, below it subtracts.22%
Max winThe maximum win the studio publishes. Where none is published it scores neutral.22%
FeaturesHow many distinct mechanics it brings: tumbles, multipliers, pay anywhere, Megaways, bonus buy, jackpot or sticky wilds.28%
BetHow cheaply you can play. The lower the minimum bet, the more accessible the game.13%
Track recordRewards both the recent release and the classic still sitting in lobbies. It penalises the middle ground.15%
  • The scale runs from 6.5 to 9.0. Today the catalogue runs from 7.0 to 8.9.
  • If the studio does not publish the max win, or gives it per line rather than per spin (the Amusnet classics), that criterion scores neutral: it neither adds nor subtracts.
  • Each type of mechanic counts once: «cascade» and «tumble» are the same thing and do not add twice.
  • A game has a single score, the same in Spanish and in English.

What the score does not tell you

It does not tell you which game pays more. Slots are random and every spin is independent of the last. A high score means the game has good figures and more features, not that you will win.

The casino score

Four criteria, with these weights:

CriterionWeight
Licensing & regulation35%
Transparency & reputation25%
Game catalogue20%
User experience20%

Today casino scores run from 7.9 to 8.7. The reviews are global: the licence, the games and legality itself depend on your country.

Where the data comes from

  • Pragmatic Play: the data sheet for each game that the studio gives to casinos, and its website.
  • Amusnet: each game's page on amusnet.com. These are the original version's figures; every review says so.
  • If two official sources disagree, we give both. If a figure is not published, we say so and do not make it up.

Questions

Can a casino or studio pay for a higher score?
No. The score comes from the formula on this page and no commercial agreement changes it, nor the order of the lists.
Why does no slot get a 10?
Because the scale runs from 6.5 to 9.0. A 9.0 is the game with the best figures and the most features in the catalogue, not a perfect game.
What happens if a figure changes?
The score is recalculated automatically with the new figure. If it was our mistake, we log it in the editorial policy.
